8 Minutes to Oxted: End of Consultation Update

We had some very good news at the weekend that the proposal has been endorsed by all six Tandridge councillors which you will remember was something that Nick Skellett said would give it a lot of weight for the full council. This lends support to our proposal as does the agreement by all the schools. Nick Skellett also announced his support publicly. See our PRESS RELEASE.

This seems to put us in an excellent position. However WE STILL NEED YOUR SUPPORT.

As this is a consultation process everything still needs to go through due process which means that a report is made to the Schools Select Committee. They recommend to Executive who then recommends to full council.

I have spoken to Andrew Crisp, member for learning and schools, who is fully behind the proposal. However he still encourages us to put forward our petition to demonstrate our strength of feeling. Therefore I would urge you ALL to support us and turn out in orange T-shirts to present the petition at County Hall on Tuesday 12th. The coach will leave Lingfield school at 12.30pm and return at approximately 4.30pm to 5pm. (Sign up here) There will be a crèche available at school and we will need to know if you wish to make use if this when you put your name down for the coach. Full details will also go out in book bags at school.

WE ARE SO CLOSE BUT WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
